GO Strategy team has been created in January 2020. The aim of this team is to define and steer GO Strategy, in alignment with the AXA Group Strategic cycles and to ensure the implementation of the corresponding transformation roadmap by setting up and rolling out a dedicated governance. IT also aims at ensuring the alignment of the investments with the strategic objectives by defining and following up on the investments portfolio of projects across GO.
The Strategy Officer position will BE fully dedicated to the GO Strategy team.
Team purpose
Strategy definition and execution
- Creating and maintaining documents describing the strategy of GO, articulated with the Group context and timeline as well as the specific stakes and reality of GO. Ensuring on-boarding and connection with relevant senior stakeholders
- Articulating the execution of the strategy through the set-up of strategic projects, and through the prioritization of the investment portfolio
- Monitoring and steering the implementation of the strategy, through the identification and publication of associated KPIs
- Communicating on GO Strategy content and its execution, in order to support the appropriation across GO operational teams
Strategic Project Scoping, Planning and Goal Setting
- Creating structured schedules and project plans based on the project goals, resources needed, potential risks, time to market and budget constraints
- Partnering with stream leaders to assess the workloads and impacts for different divisions, identifying dependencies and possible issues across teams
- Developing and communicating clear and actionable deliverables, or activities to BE completed
Project Execution and Governance
- Tracking deadlines, deliverables, resources, and timelines throughout the project process
- Holding owners accountable for their commitments and conducting program team meetings to provide status updates and identify and resolve issues
- Managing the overall process of carrying out the project in order to adapt plans based on evolving needs, conditions or issues that may arise and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with the stated project goals
Reporting and Communication
- Creating and maintaining up to date documents supporting the strategic initiatives at GO level, providing valuable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Gathering and analyzing data, translating findings into actionable recommendations
- Along with Stream Leaders, ensuring documentation, supporting materials, and project plans are updated and readily available for internal teams and senior leaders
Project Prioritization and Portfolio Management
- Managing the portfolio of GO for GO projects, articulating with the planning and validation of the next projects to come, supervising the on-going projects, and ensuring that these projects are delivered on time and on budget
- Animating the projects prioritization process and communicating priorities in line with the GO priorities
- Ensuring the end-to-end delivery of the portfolio management process, from defining the strategic priorities, to building the project portfolio and following IT all year long
- Supporting the teams and divisions of AXA GO in the steering of their respective project portfolios, by implementing reports and Key Performance Indicators
- Following up on the progress of on-going projects, in collaboration with the project portfolio manager of each division, the project managers and the control and support functions, in order to identify the stakes and main points that allow to properly represent the health of the portfolios
- Organizing the projects validation, the day-to-day steering of the project portfolio and the interface with controlling team for adequate budget management
- Providing regular reports to the senior management and to the various stakeholders on the status of the project portfolios and the concrete outcomes of projects
Project Portfolio Management Framework
- Supporting the maturity increase of the project portfolio management process at AXA GO, by contributing to the definition, implementation and improvements of the Project Portfolio Management Framework
- Being best in class in GO in the Framework execution, to share best practices with other Portfolio Managers
Contribution to Best Practices and Standards Development
- In collaboration with process and standard owners (in particular Organization, Process and Data team), identifying GO processes and activities to improve
- Understanding the main processes and standards of different divisions across GO Organization, and contributing to their documentation, communication, and implementation across GO.
Activities
- Proactively propose scoping and structuration of projects (e.g. scoping 1-pager, description of approach, governance, deliverables etc.) when relevant.
· Autonomously structure and organize the follow up of the project and strategic initiatives :
o Organize review and progress update per stream in line with the project structure, involving relevant project stakeholders (e.g. project manager, controlling, other when relevant)
o Create templates and fill them in to formalize the progress.
o Create ppt slides including the high level messages associated to these project and initiatives in order to support decision making
· Collect the status of the projects (detailed scoping and structure, progress of deliverables), and ensure that the project manager / project portfolio manager prepares the content associated to each project gate. (Either through meetings with the project managers / project portfolio managers or offline).
· Prepare and animate the project portfolio governance (project portfolio review meetings, linked to project progress and portfolio management timeline; gating review of large projects in ExCom; communication of output decisions to relevant stakeholders)
· Ensure senior stakeholder engagement on all above-mentioned activities

- Experience in consulting ~5 years
